The revitalization of College Avenue campus was recently given an incredible show of support with a $1 million gift for the renewal of Darke Hall from one of the University’s alumni. This is the largest gift from an alumnus and the modest donor wishes to remain anonymous.

“To have one of our own recognize the importance of this project and support it with such commitment speaks volumes about the strength of our vision for the future of the College Avenue campus,” said University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor, Vianne Timmons.

“This generous gift puts us one step closer to revitalizing our historic campus, and on behalf of the University of Regina, I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation to the donor for this incredible show of support,” she added.

This contribution brings the total funds raised for Building Knowledge – The College Avenue Campus Renewal Project, the University of Regina’s number one capital fundraising priority, to approximately $3 million.

The revitalization of College Avenue campus will transform it into a vibrant, accessible centre of learning, strengthening the University of Regina’s connection to the community and further contributing to the education of the next century of learners and leaders. The campus will be known as the University of Regina Leadership and Outreach Centre (LOC).

“This gift shows that not only do our alumni have a strong connection to their University and its historic buildings, but to the larger community as well,” said Board Chair of the project, Paul McLellan.

“This is a powerful example of leadership within our community and will help to generate further support for the project,” he added.
