Fall semester will kick off with a number of Orientation events at the University of Regina. Whether you are entering university directly out of high school or from the workforce, are an international student, registered through a federated college, or a parent of one of these students, we have a program designed to help you make a smooth transition to university.
Over 750 new students and 200 parents are expected to be on campus on Thursday, September 3, 2009, to participate in the New Student and Parent Orientation programs.
As a new student you will learn how to navigate around campus and what it takes to be successful at university. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other new students and current students (who will provide you with survival tips!) Plus, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beautiful Academic Green. The full-day New Student Orientation is a lot of fun.
"Orientation is a great way to meet new people and really provides an opportunity for incoming students to learn about our campus and what they can expect as they start university in the fall," says Raeanne Thompson, student development and retention coordinator at the Student Development Office.
The Parent Orientation program is also a full-day that includes valuable information about our support services, a session hosted by your child's faculty, a discussion of transition issues faced by new students, and an optional campus tour.
Everyone must register to attend. Register before the early-bird deadline of August 15 to be entered for a chance to win one of five $200 tuition prizes. The deadline to register for the event is August 27.
