Le programme du Baccalauréat collaboratif en sciences infirmières de la Saskatchewan (SCBScN) célèbre la première cohorte d'étudiants inscrits dans son option bilingue.

«   À cette époque de l'année, bon nombre de nos étudiants attendent avec impatience la fin du semestre d'hiver et se préparent pour les examens finaux, dit monsieur Thomas Chase, vice-recteur exécutif et vice-recteur aux études à l'Université de Regina. Nous reconnaissons aujourd'hui sept de ces étudiants qui ont choisi de préparer leur baccalauréat en sciences infirmières en français et en anglais. Lorsqu'ils se sont inscrits dans cette nouvelle option à l'automne 2018, ils ont pris la décision historique de faire partie de la première cohorte de la nouvelle option bilingue du programme en sciences infirmières de la province.»

« Cette première année du programme a été une expérience positive. Nous sommes très contents d'avoir été acceptés par la communauté francophone de La Cité. » dit Daisi Tramer, étudiante - option bilingue du BCBScN. « Nous avons acquis de nouvelles compétences en soins infirmiers et nous avons noué de nouvelles amitiés. C'est un grand privilège que de représenter le premier groupe d'étudiants de l'option bilingue du programme en sciences infirmières. »

Conçu pour répondre à la demande croissante de fournisseurs de soin qui communiquent couramment dans les deux langues officielles, le programme SCBScN (une collaboration entre la Faculté de sciences infirmières de l'Université de Regina et de l'École de sciences infirmières de Saskatchewan Polytechnic) s'est associé à La Cité universitaire francophone pour offrir l'option bilingue. La moitié des cours sont donnés en français et l'autre moitié, en anglais. Les candidats doivent répondre à toutes les conditions d'admission du programme SCBScN ordinaire ainsi qu'aux exigences en matière de français définies par La Cité universitaire francophone.

Le Baccalauréat collaboratif en sciences infirmières de la Saskatchewan (SCBScN) est agréé par l'Association canadienne des écoles de sciences infirmières (ACESI).

Celebrating the first anniversary of the new Bilingual Option in nursing

The Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program celebrates the first cohort of students enrolled in the Bilingual Option.

"At this time of year many of our students are looking forward to the end of the winter semester and preparing for final exams," says Dr. Thomas Chase, Provost and Vice-President, University of Regina. "Today we are recognizing seven of these students who chose to undertake their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in both French and English. When they enrolled in this new option in the Fall of 2018 they made a historic decision to become part of the inaugural class of the first bilingual option nursing program in Saskatchewan."

"It has been a positive experience over this first year of the program. We are thrilled to have been accepted into the French community at La Cité," said Daisi Tramer, SCBScN Bilingual Option student. "Overall we've learned many new nursing skills and made new friends. We feel very privileged to be able to represent the first group of students in the Bilingual Option of the SCBScN nursing program."

Designed to meet the growing demand for health care providers who are fluent in both official languages the SCBScN program (a collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing at the U of R and the School of Nursing at Saskatchewan Polytechnic) partnered with La Cité universitaire francophone to offer the Bilingual Option. Fifty percent of the classes are taught in French while the other half is taught in English. Applicants must meet all admission requirements of the regular SCBScN program as well as the French language proficiency requirements as identified by La Cité universitaire francophone.

The Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) is accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).
