Item Open Access Reproductive Justice and Indigenous Women in Saskatchewan: Overview and Recommendations(2021-03-01) Cattapan, Alana; Moore, Samantha; Lawford, KarenOn January 26th, 2021 the Government of Saskatchewan announced it would be ending the use of birth alerts in the province, following the calls to justice from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Although this is one step towards combating stigma against Indigenous parenthood and the policies that work to remove Indigenous children from this families, homes, and communities, there is still much to be done to address ongoing harms and to advance reproductive justice for Indigenous Peoples in Saskatchewan.
