Abstract
Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) technology may be able to reduce energy consumption in wastewater treatment plants by generating electricity from the wastewater. Organic matter is removed by biological reactions during the process. In this project, the feasibility of applying MFCs has been evaluated by designing a prototype of a double-chamber MFC to run with wastewater samples from the City of Regina Wastewater Treatment Plant.
