dc.description.abstractI'm very glad and very honoured to be here tonight. Some of the best connections I ever made were at the library and so your conference theme suits me just fine. However, I must say, I was a little intimidated by the background information that was sent to me when I accepted the engagement. It states quite clearly that, "The [Mary Donaldson Memorial] lectures are given annually by leaders in the field of library science." Now, I did, in fact, support myself through university working at the library, but mostly I just shelved books. I was pretty good at it. Had it down to a science.en_US
