dc.description.abstract | This paper is in support of the exhibition Propagation, my Master of Fine Arts graduating exhibition that was held at the Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre from February 3rd – March 28th, 2021. The exhibition and paper explore my personal history with my childhood garden, the lineage of knowledge I came to carry, and the food I have grown as a result. Firstly, I describe the exhibition itself, and the logic behind the particulars of its installation. Next, I explore the development of the exhibition through the MFA program, and a few key moments where the work shifted. In the third section I explain the mediums chosen, and why I chose them, as well as the exploration of storytelling and food cultivation as artistic methods. Finally, I discuss contemporary artistic influences on this exhibition. | en_US |
