Abstract

This study will discusses the concept of urban agriculture, its growth and spread in Canada, and position Regina within the broad Canadian spectrum. It serves to inform the people of Regina and particularly, its urban agriculture community about the implications of municipal bylaws and policies on urban agricultural activities in Regina. It also uses the policy frameworks of other cities to suggest what needs to change if the urban agriculture landscape in Regina must improve. Lastly, this report presents what it considers as best practice in urban agriculture, providing practical actions and activities that are required for urban agriculture to thrive within Regina.
