University community mourning the passing of Chancellor Emeritus Dr. William Ready

On the morning of July 8, longtime contributor to the University of Regina and honorary degree recipient, Dr. William Ready S.O.M. Q.C. passed away. Dr. Ready served as the University's seventh Chancellor from 2007-2013. In 1989 he received an honorary degree from the University. Last month, in recognition of his lifetime of service to the province, Dr. Ready was invested as a member of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit.

He leaves to mourn his wife of more than 65 years, Fran, as well as five children, 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Dr. Ready's memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview United Chruch, 3200 McCallum Avenue. The flag will fly at half mast on Monday in Dr. Ready's honour.
