(Saskatchewan Library Association, 1999) Kingwell, Mark
I thought it would be appropriate,
at this cultural juncture, to talk about
the logic of storage and retrieval. My use of the phrase "this cultural
juncture" might set off an alarm bell
or two, but I promise I won't bore
you tonight with talk of the millennium,
lest somebody brandish in front
of me this new book I keep seeing
everywhere, called Two Thousand
Reasons to Hate the Millennium. Mercifully
my name is not included in that
book, but in all fairness it could have
been. The M-word is becoming boring,
as I myself predicted it might
when I published my book Dreams of
the M-Word back in 1996.
