Permanent URI for this collection
This collection of University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus and University of Regina news releases from the University of Regina Archives consists of 2,700+ unique items going back to 1962. This collection builds on the news releases currently available in oURspace via the External Relations community.
News releases are a trustworthy source of institutional history that document various happenings, such as changes in leadership, annual events like convocation or named lectures, major milestones like anniversaries, construction and renovations of buildings, research being conducted on campus, and much more. News releases are published by the primary communications unit on campus, which has gone by various names over the years: News Services Office, University News Services, News and Information, Publicity and Public Relations, News and Information Services, Publicity and Information Services, Public Relations Office, Communications Office, and currently Communications and Marketing.
News releases are presented as they were when published. While the news releases may contain terms, concepts, and interpretations that have evolved since original publication, these are historical documents that reflect the times in which they were created. Titles have been adapted to bring them up to date with current terminology, unless doing so would impact discovery, such as the term being a component of a proper name.
